Taking a break helps!February 11, 2018
Something I have come to appreciate at The Beech Centre is the regular breaks we are advised to take. We all experience stressful times in our lives. It may last for a day, a week, months or a year. It also varies significantly what actions and occurrences cause stress for different people. It is one of those uncontrollable factors in people’s lives and there should not be any pressure to hide your stress and anxiety.
One thing that really does not vary that much Is our ability to focus for extended periods of time. Pushing through long periods of work can take its toll. Whilst I certainly am not qualified enough to offer the definitive resolution to reduce stress and improve focus, what I do know is that taking a break helps!
From my own experience this week alone, I have come across scenarios where I may not be functioning at my best, or I am making rushed and ill thought out decisions which needed time to be made. Taking a break down the lane (as I did to allow me to take the picture above), or even just getting away from your desk allowing for a reset, recharge and reevaluate.
Even if this is difficult in your schedule, attempt to take a break and help yourself.
