Steve Benfield

Chief Executive

Steve founded The Beech Centre in 2000. With a background in senior level general management and having worked in a number of sectors including Education, Health and not-for-profit organisations, Steve drives the success of The Beech Centre and works directly with all clients across our membership community.

He draws upon postgraduate qualifications in management, education and consultancy and has many years practical experience, including leading roles in the Chartered Management Institute and the Association for Coaching.

Steve spends time raising the awareness of The Beech Centre’s work and vision, as well as maintaining member relationships by providing delivery as an OD consultant, facilitator, executive coach and supervisor of practice and projects. Steve is passionate about developing The Beech Centre to be the Institute for People, Performance and Organisational Development.

Donna Smithson
Donna Smithson
Membership Services-Director

Joining The Beech Centre in April 2013 as Membership Services Manager, Donna had 13 years previous experience in public sector working for North Lincolnshire Council, Adult Social Services both within care management and workforce, development and training.

Donna has a wealth of experience within leadership and management, recruitment and selection, budget monitoring, customer service, IT & social media, training and development. Donna has completed both the Certificate in Performance Development Coaching and Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials with The Beech Centre.

Donna now leads the Membership Services Team for The Beech Centre and is passionate about providing a world-class membership proposition for both current members of The Beech Centre and the wider OD community as we journey towards government accreditation.

Jenny Venter
Jenny Venter
Governance & Partnerships- Business Manager

With over 20 years of experience within the administration and secretarial field, Jenny is responsible for managing the financial operations at The Beech Centre.

Jenny has experience in varied industries such as Manufacturing, Insurance, Housing Development, Motor Trade and a Charitable Organisation funded by the Local Council.

Jenny has recently undertaken the Certificate in Professional Consulting with The Beech Centre and is looking forward to utilising her newly accrued skills within her role as a member of the Institute Leadership Team!

Lynn Boulonois
Lynn Boulonois
Membership Programme Manager

Lynn joined the Beech Centre in November 2014 as Programme Administrator and then moved into the Membership Services Co-ordinator role in April 2015, after moving to Yorkshire in July 14 from Shropshire. Lynn now acts in the role of the Membership Programme Manager.

For over 20 years she worked in the Travel & Banking Industry, qualified in both British Airways Fares & Ticketing, and financial planning. Lynn recently attended the Introductory Certificate in Organisational Development.

In Lynn’s role as the Membership Programme Manager, Lynn will be responsible for the management of resourcing and logistical planning around all our core offering programmes for consulting, coaching, facilitation and leadership.

She has lived in a number of different countries across Europe following her husband around in the RAF, Cyprus being her favourite. She is a keen golfer with a handicap of 13.

Governance and Partnerships- Executive Assistant

Lizzie joined The Beech Centre in September 2011 after a career first as a dancer, then as a Deputy Cruise Director for a Major international Cruise Line. Highlights included visiting Antarctica, sailing into Sydney Harbour, Sailing an Americas Cup Yacht in St Maarten and dancing Argentine Tango In Buenos Aires! In July 2014, Lizzie moved into her current role of Executive Assistant, dedicated to supporting the Chief Executive and the rest of the Director team.

Happiest when everyone has everything they need to perform in their role and everything runs smoothly, Lizzie loves logisitics and organising and is most probably one of the first voices you hear on the end of the phone when you ring into The Beech Centre building!

Martha Benfield

Membership Services Manager

In Membership Services, we work closely with our external and internal clients (the other members of The Beech Centre Team) to enable the delivery of fantastic support to our members and our other clients to take place at the highest possible standard! Martha works closely with both Lynn and Luke to ensure that membership clients are ‘delighted’ in their interactions with The Beech Centre Team.

In Martha’s role as the Membership Services Manager, Martha will be responsible for leading on all operational elements of membership and consultancy client experience, with a focus on client and member delivery activity and membership activity planning.

Business Development and Engagement- Digital Engagement Co-ordinator

Elen joined The Beech Centre in October 2014 as our OD Practice- Research Assistant, after previously working in the retail, catering and hospitality and arts and entertainment industries. She has a passion for the arts, writing and creative media and is currently in a part- time role at The Beech Centre whilst also studying for her Undergraduate Acting Degree at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts.

Elen has completed The Beech Centre’s Introductory Certificate in OD since she joined the team and is keen to further her practitioner capability in the future, with facilitation and consultancy being particular areas of interest. Elen is passionate about looking at ways The Beech Centre and the wider OD practitioner community can incorporate creative arts and media into their practices.

In her role as Digital Engagement Co-ordinator, Elen manages The Beech Centre’s Website and social media accounts, so when you tweet us or interact with us online, Elen will be the person you talk to!

Luke Spayne

Membership Services Administrator

Luke joined the Beech Centre in November 2015. Before joining the Beech Centre Luke came from a small family run business background which he managed for a number of years. He is also in the final stages of completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management at the University of Hull from which he has spent the last 4 and a half years studying. Luke has a keen ambition to travel the world and also enjoys dog walks with his Weimaraner called Mabel.

In his role as Membership Services Administrator, Luke works closely with both Lynn and Martha, to ensure that the logistics and practicalities needed to run programmes or any delivery that we do are in place. Luke also works closely with Jenny our Business Manager around the data management inputting around financial systems.  Luke is responsible for the facilities management of our delivery suite function, so if you should be a part of one of the programmes at our centre, he may be one of the first members of the team you see!

At The Beech Centre we work with a number of specialist associates who provide members with support through programme development, consultancy interventions and research activity as they progress on their OD journey.

Attending a Beech conference is fantastic. It’s a great opportunity to network with people who are interested in the same topics. It’s also a great way to learn about how people are implementing the principles that Beech present. The networking aspect is an excellent opportunity.
